CEMA SPEAKER SERIES: An evening with Statistics Canada
Thursday, May 5, 2011 Gary Dillon Director, Central Region, Statistics Canada Gary Dillon was born and raised in the Northern Ontario community of Sturgeon Falls. Mr. Dillon has a vast experience with Statistics Canada having started with the department in January 1983 in the Sturgeon Falls Office where he held the positions of Chief of Administration, Program Manager and District Manager. In March 2005 he moved to the Regional office located in Toronto to take on the role of Manager, Management Services and Informatics. He later became the Regional Assistant Director responsible for all collection and advisory services for the Central Region. In his spare time, he is an avid carpenter. Mr. Dillon was appointed Regional Director on September 1, 2009. André Langdon Regional Communications Manager – 2011 Census & NHS A graduate of the University of Toronto with a specialization in Canadian Studies, André has been with Statistics Canada for over 20 years. His background at Statistics Canada is diverse. He started on the 1991 Census as an Area Manager and then joined Statistics Canada’s survey program as a manager of business surveys, going back as a District Manager during the 1996 Census. After that, he was Program Manager for Field Surveys. In the 2001 Census, André joined the Census Communications Team and after census was responsible for ongoing respondent relations. He has been Regional Communications Manager for Central Region, Statistics Canada since 2010.
