In a recent address to members of the
Canadian Ethnic Media Association, Laura Albanese,
Ontario’s Minister of Citizenship
and Immigration,
said the provincial government’s
promotion to the ethnic media
needs to be improved.
However, she took the opportunity to
indicate that there are challenges
in selecting the media in which to
advertise.
Albanese said the government helps
non-profit organizations with a
fund for volunteerism. And she
reminded the audience about the
Ontario government’s Good
Citizenship Awards for civic engagement.
Prior to being elected to the Ontario legislature in 2007 Albanese, who is also the Deputy House Leader, was a broadcast journalist for more than 20 years.
