On March 12, 2026, President of the Canadian Ethnic Media Association, Kiumars Rezvanifar, and Chair, Madeline Ziniak, C.M., O. Ont, were witnesses at the House of Commons Standing Committee in Ottawa, for the Study of Journalism and Media Sectors. Their objective was to address challenges and funding gaps facing independent ethnic community producers. Kiumars and Madeline, on behalf of CEMA, emphasised the need to support these media entities to ensure continued access and reflection of Canada’s diverse population.
With this goal in mind, the Canadian Ethnic Media Association’s Call for Submissions hopes to make this year’s Awards the best ever! During this year of world-wide media challenges and stress, what better way to celebrate Journalistic Excellence than with a rousing, full-on competition of Canada’s best ethnic media produced between April 1, 2025 and March 31, 2026.
