Ontario MPP, a former journalist, keynote speaker at CEMA’s monthly meeting

Laura Albanese, Ontario’s Minister of Citizenship and Immigration, and the Deputy House Leader, will address members of the Canadian Ethnic Media Association at our next monthly meeting.

It is being held on April 6, starting at 6:45 p.m., at the Rogers Communications Centre at Ryerson University, 80 Gould Street.

Albanese, a former journalist, was first elected to the Ontario legislature in 2007 as the representative for York South – Weston. She was re-elected in 2011 and 2014.

Prior to entering politics, Albanese was a broadcast journalist for more than 20 years. She was best known as co-anchor of OMNI News: Italian Edition – a one-hour daily Italian-language newscast.

Albanese was also the associate producer for Italian-language programming at OMNI-TV.
