Danielle Smith, leader of Alberta’s Wildrose Party, is the main speaker at the September meeting of the Canadian Ethnic Media Association (CEMA) in Edmonton.
Prior to embarking on a political career, Smith, the province’s opposition leader, worked in the media. She was an editorial writer and columnist at the Calgary Herald for six years. She was also the host of Global Sunday, a national current affairs television talk show.
In addition, Smith hosted of two programs on CKMX 1060 AM radio in Calgary – Health Frontiers and Standing Ground.
Smith has also been a frequent guest commentator on television and radio.
Smith, a graduate of the University of Calgary, served an internship at the Fraser Institute where she gained much experience in public policy.
