“Together in Canada — Ensemble au Canada“ a gala dinner and award event on June 24, 2017, was presented by the Canadian Ethnocultural Council in proud collaboration with the Canadian Ethnic Media Association.

It was an evening to celebrate diversity, multiculturalism, heritage and identity, during Canada’s 150th Anniversary. And it was also an occasion to pay tribute to four outstanding Canadians for their contributions to the preservation, promotion and advancement of multiculturalism in Canada.

The honoured recipients are:
• The late Senator Paul Yuzyk
• Madeline Ziniak C.M., Ont.
• Dr. Joseph Wong, C.M.
• Stefan Luczkiw — Youth Award

The emcees for the evening were Lucy Zilio, associate producer on Omni TV’s “Tuned In”, and Raoul Juneja, TV personality and music industry producer.

Dominic Campione, President of the Canadian Ethnocultural Council, and Kiu Rezvanifar, President of the Canadian Ethnic Media Association, conveyed special greetings to kick off the event.

The Honorary Co-chairs were the Hon. Frank Iacobucci and Mario Cortellucci. The Gala’s Co-chairs were Madeline Ziniak and Lenny Lombardi.

Laura Albanese, Ontario’s Minister of Citizenship and Immigration, brought greetings from Premier Kathleen Wynne.

Canada’s 150th birthday and Canadian Multiculturalism Day (June 27), were celebrated by more than 400 guests and dignitaries who attended the event. It was held at the Riviera Event and Convention Centre.
