Director of the Aga Khan Museum the keynote speaker at CEMA’s April 7 meeting

Henry S. Kim, director and CEO of the Aga Khan Museum in Toronto, will be the keynote speaker at the next monthly meeting of the Canadian Ethnic Media Association.

It will be held on Thursday, April 7, 2015, at Ryerson University’s Rogers Communications Centre, 80 Gould Street, starting at 6:45 p.m.

Mr. Kim is an ancient history scholar and classical archaeologist. He joined the Aga Khan Museum from the University of Oxford where, from 1994 to 2012, he taught, curated collections and managed capital projects at the Ashmolean Museum.

He has also served as a curator of Greek coins and has been a lecturer in Greek numismatics.

From 2004 to 2011 he was the project director for the Ashmolean Redevelopment Project. He was also the director of the University Engagement Program, a three-year project sponsored by the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, which is aimed at expanding the use of the museum’s collections in teaching.
