An honourable mention for Ben Viccari from Ontario Premier McGuinty

Former CEMA President Ben Viccari was given an honourable mention for his achievement in promoting ethnic journalism in Canada, including through his recent award winning documentary The ‘M’ Word by Ontario Premier Dalton McGuinty.  The premier hosted a special evening to recognize diversity in Ontario. Viccari is considered the foremost protagonist for Multiculturalism in Canada.

Glimpses from our 2008 Annual Dinner... A joyous evening!

Three of our members got special recognition plaques for long and selfless service to CEMA in particular and the cause of promoting Canada’s ethnic media in general. The three were former president Ben Viccari, author Kati Rekai and Vera Ke, for the longest time CEMA’s treasurer, whose eye would as frequently wander from the balance sheet to her little camera that recorded the happenings at CEMA events over the years.
